View Full Version : [all variants] DVD Shrink is breaking up files into separate VOB's, why ?

I just installed the latest version of Kubuntu (64 bit) after having used Ubuntu for over 2 years, on which I was using DVD Shrink to back up my personal DVD's. It has worked flawlessly for me, and would like to stick with it. I just installed DVD Shrink yesterday, but no matter what options I choose, it seems to create VOB files in the chosen directory, rather than one single ISO file, which is the way it always was.

What could the reason for this be ? I dont know if this is a hint but, I also can not play back a dvd via Kaffeine despite having libdvd.css and libdvd.read installed. (or at least that's what I think the files are called). Are there other things I'll need to install for proper dvd playback as well as (especially) getting DVD Sbrink to produce a single ISO file ?

When you perform the Backup with DVD Shrink, you are choosing to Create an Iso Image File as shown in the second step here (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink31-finalsteps.htm)?
