I am just curious, where does the info for the weather applet come from?

I get my weather info from looking out the window and if I'm a little unsure I consult the seaweed that's tied to my shed.

Oh, you did GIMP it! How can I make your image more clear and sharpen?

Select the area you want to sharpen, then you can use either sharpen (basic) or unsharp mask (advanced), both are in the filters menu.

Why do you want that (you can't btw)? All the information needed is not 'blurred'.

Yes, but you'll never get the original quality.

This is true. Some image data is lost when you blur the image.

Is it just me or does the weather info really suck. It only updates once an hour and even though it just updated a few minutes ago it says it's sunny outside. It is pouring rain outside with lots of lightning.

Yes.

Is the station you're looking at reasonably close to where you are, and does it usually have comparable weather?

Here in Australia, the weather info comes direct from the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology - as official as it gets. I*guess different locales use different sources, not everyone gets it from weather.com.

depending on where you live, the information might not be even close to where you live

for example, the weather applet only has two choices for my city, and both are a good 30+ minute drive from my house, so sometimes its a bit inaccurate (says its raining when really its just cloudy) but its usually not that innacurate
