View Full Version : [ubuntu] Playing Win32 Audio\Video on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy

I am looking for win32 codecs to play audio and video on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy x86.

I am particularly looking for dvr-ms playback.

I know you can play this format on VLC, but I want to have the option to use more media players.

I have enabled all default sources on my machine (Main, Universe, Restricted, Multiverse, Source Code, and third party canonical)

Also, I read somewhere that to be able to legally use these codecs you must own a legal copy of Windows.

I do. Is this true? Why?
