Hi,

I started an upgrade last night from 7.10 to 8.04. The upgrade hanged with 10 minutes remaining. It was installing the new packages I think. It hanged at the following step:

Setting up libcu38 (3.8.6)
Setting up locale (2.7.9-4)
Generating locales
en_AU-UTF-8

At this point, the terminal becomes a Zombie process. I let it run for many hours, still no progress. I tried to boot with recovery mode to fix the packages, it hangs at the same place. What can I do? Can this be repaired? Do I have to re-install 8.04 over my existing installation (hybrid 7.10 and 8.04)? If I re-install, will I loose all my user settings and home directory?

I do not know if it is important, but my setting is in French. I don't know if this can be the upgrade problem cause.

Thanks for your help!

For anyone who was wondering, here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=865679) is the duplicate thread. That is, is has the same topic and seems to offer a solution.
