View Full Version : [ubuntu] linux-rt module cripples Envy available screen resolution

I recently upgraded Ubuntu 8.04 lts to Ubuntu Studio on my:

Thinkpad T61p
Nvidia Quadro FX 570m graphics
1920 x 1200 screen resolution

which installed and worked fine in the Ubuntu Generic Kernel.

Installing the linux-rt package broke the Nvidia installation

I reinstalled using envy but the screen resolution is now limited 1600 x 1024. My highest priority is to get this back to 1920 x 1200.

Installing the sucessfully on the linux-rt kernel breaks the generic kernel graphics setup. This is low priority and probably I need to do some more research but altering the graphics setup on one kernel effects the other, is this normal behaviour?

I don't wish to install the nvidia driver manually because I get errors running some programmes.

Is there anyone who knows how this might be resoloved or otherwise the most suitable mailing list for this enquiry.

Thanks

Jenny
