Can you compile code for a different platform?

Like, can i compile C++ code on my ubuntu for OSX?

(I know about Python and Ruby being cross platform, no need to bring that up...)

You can cross compile, but I don't know of exactly how to do that for OS X.

It is possible, but I'd have to cross compile libs too and stuff. thankfully i have a friend wif a mac, i can just vnc or logmein from my xp into theirs and compile there. (but thats a long way away).
