Ok I have been trying small distros such as Puppy Linux,DSL,Zenwalk, and many others.

Only thing is I can only try the live cds.

Each time I go for the installation it seems either to hard or just won't work.

Like with Puppy Linux it works all the way until the grub part.

DSL says it installs, but when I restart it says no OS detected :/.

Zenwalk does the same thing as DSL.

Not only do these problems happen it takes me about 1 hour to even figure out how to install.

I love the smaller distros alot, except for the installation problem.

So can someone please explain to me how the heck or why the smaller distros are so hard to install.

Or atleast how to install them?

I have mainly been trying this on a old machine with these specs.
190 ram(no clue how that came to be)
500mhz processor
An old graphics card that I do not know the name of.

The other machine I have also tried them on is.
1gb rm
1.6 ghz processor
an 945 intel graphics card

So how the heck do I install the smaller distros they seem so different compared to others like ubuntu,PClinuxOS,and dream linux.

Clean your drive. Get Gparted Live CD:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=115843&package_id=271779
Burn the iso to disk and boot from it. Delete everything in your drive. Format ext3. Clean the lens in your burner. Check CD integrity before you install.
