Hello,

I have been dual-booting Kubuntu with Windows Vista for a few months now, and I have to say I really like it compared to the GNOME-based Ubuntu.

But now I want to see if there is anything out there better than Kubuntu in terms of KDE-based distributions.

Anyone have any ideas?

OpenSUSE is amazing, you should try it :)

for an opposite approach to kde, try kdemod (arch).

am given mandriva a spin right now .. and am amazed at the way kde is implemented ... very smooth and polished ... its giving me a different impression of kde different from what i had when i tried kubuntu

PCLinuxOS and OpenSUSE.
I would suggest PCLinuxOS.

OpenSUSE is the best KDE distribution I have ever used, then again I've only ever used OpenSUSE (Quick Spin) and Kubuntu (also gave it a quick spin).

I don't understand what you mean by "opposite approach."

Kdemod is not bloated, which I can guess that OpenSUSE is. And since I'm here, I'll also recommend Kdemod on Arch Linux.

Depends what you want from a distro, but people I know who like KDE have given glowing reports of Mandriva's latest offering.
