hi just wondering what loco is.
A LoCo Team is a Local Community team. They hold events and work on projects in their region. The New Jersey team, for example, represents Ubuntu at computer shows, has installation parties, and has fun promotional events, like Linux LAN parties. Other LoCo teams do similar things, as well as more project oriented things -- the PA team, for example, is working with NTR (non-profit technology resource center) to refurbish old laptops and put linux on them.
If you're from New Jersey, or close enough that you'll regularly do things in New Jersey, you can apply for the team here (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-us-nj) and I'll add you. Please read the description on that page, including the part about joining the mailing list. If you're not from New Jersey, you can find your LoCo team's site here (http://ubuntu-us.org/). You can join multiple LoCo teams -- for example, many people around the Philadelphia area join both the PA and NJ LoCo teams.
I hope that clears things up for you.
