O.K. This may sound stupid at first, but lets give it a try.

Try to rack up as many "VIEWS" as possible, with as few "POSTS" as possible, but keep it on the front page, by posting once, when you see it at the very bottom of the page.

Ultimate goal - reach 1,000,000 views

What to post when it's time? - a guess as to how long we have left before we reach the goal.


My guess... 1 month with about 50 posts to keep it alive.

yeah, let me try, it will never reach 1,000,000 views :lolflag:

just look at word association thread, it started in 2005 which, as of this writing has 35,006 post and 602,031 views. :D

So far it's been pretty normal: 30-40 views per post. Check the absolute beginners talk. There are threads there with 1000+ views per post.

maybe renaming the thread title every couple of days / hours would help. I saw this topic, clicked it and now know that "Look but don't touch!" is not really interesting and don't have to look at it again (no offense meant).

The part that sucks, is that it doesn't register more than one view, per person, unless there has been a post in between said persons' views. Oh well. Makes sense, but, I didn't think about that when I set the goal. ](*,)

The BUMP thread has 182,000 views with 10,700 replies and it's only about 13 months old.

Itīs b/c you can reply as much as you want. But the "views" counter only increases by one with the first visit of each member, unless he posts, then it resets giving that member another "view" without posting.

That's a definite possibility. The only thing I can think of to get this thread going somewhere is to have a one day rule. No posting for about one day.

I still don't think this is gonna work because if you look at stats for the Word Association thread, it doesn't even have a million views yet.
