Not so much. Officially, he's sponsored by (rather than working for) the Linux Foundation (http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/Main_Page); quite literally, shepherding the kernel project is his job. If he was smart and cashed in his stock options in Red Hat and VA Linux (now called Sourceforge, Inc.) when those companies' stocks were still hot eight years ago, he's got a net worth into eight figures.
