It has become better with time but i think with all the resources canonical has ubuntu should be one of the top linux distro where wireless is concerned. I mean if Mepis, which is essentially a 1 man distro, can develop a network tool that somehow will always manage to install the necessary drivers and get wireless working with a few clicks, I cannot see what is stopping Ubuntu doing the same.
