View Full Version : [ubuntu] 9 minutes to go, then LOCK-up

Upgrading from 7.10 to 8.04 LTS through update manager. I let it run all night then this is what I woke up to:

INSTALLING THE UPGRADES>

Setting up belocs-locales-bin (2.4-2.2ubuntu7) ...
Setting up locales (2.7.9-4) ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/belocs/iso-639.def ...
Generating locales...
en_AU.UTF-8...

And that's where it's frozen.

I'm afraid to hit "cancel"...in fact that button is gone and I can't back out.

Can I start over somehow or what should I do?

This sounds similar to the problem discussed in this other thread. A workaround is proposed. A bug has been filed in launchpad.
