Have been Ubuntu User since Fiesty, and all in all an excellent experience. Currently running Hardy under WUBI.

Recently have been trying to apply updates and it fails with error message

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic_2.6.24-19.34_i386.deb: unable to make backup link of `./boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-19-generic' before installing new version

I checked disk space and find that /home/ubuntu/disks/home.disk is 99% full, But I don't know if thats at all relevant.

Anyone got any ideas??

Many thanks
Alan

How is /boot?

Hi, and thanks for the reply....

/host/ubuntu/disks/boot is 50% used saying 17GB free out of 35GB.

Odd really because that partition under WinXP is 35GB and when installing under WUBI I only requested 15GB space.

Thanks
Alan
