View Full Version : [ubuntu] Last night installed ubuntu today bought external hard drive

Should I delete Ubuntu from my pcu and reinstall it onto my new 500 gb hd. I do not want to dual boot from one small 80 gb hard drive. I want to leave xp on the small internal hard drive and put all of my music/movies and ubuntu onto the new external. Will this be easily done and will ubuntu run just as fast doing this.


Any help is greatly apreciated. Looking forward to becoming an avid linux user.

easiest way is to unplug the internal drive before installing ubuntu. Then when you want to use linux just enter the Bios and toggle the boot disk to USB. Add windows to ubuntu with ntfs-config (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MountingWindowsPartitions/ThirdPartyNTFS3G#Ubuntu%208.04%20LTS%20%28Hardy%20 Heron%29)
