I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NR21S laptop and it came (unfortunately) pre-installed with Windows Vista.
I successfully installed Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) using this amazing how to:
http://apcmag.com/how_to_dualboot_vista_with_linux_vista_installed_f irst.htm?page=1
Then I found this other great how to on downgrading my Vista to XP (which, to my great luck, he had the same laptop model):
http://www.spydro.be/tutorials/downgrade-your-laptop-to-xp/
So now my hard disk has four partitions:
40GB - Windows XP
165GB - FAT32 Data
30GB - Ununtu
SomeMB - Linux SWAP
But since I installed Windows XP last, the bootloader from the first how to doesn't work, thus, I'm incapable of booting into Ubuntu.
Can anyway help?
Thank you for your time,
Panagiotis
