No, it isn't in alpha state. Why do you think that?

See http://www.adobe.com/products/air/

If you're a software developer, then here's a very cool AIR website: http://www.parleys.com

I am trying to get readair work on it but it even after it put in my login info it says you are'nt loged in do you want to login... i put my login info and the samething pops up again... I am not sure if that is a adobe air bug or the app bug itself

but not all the apps built on it are! I don't mind using adobe air if it can increase productivity...

And are you sure its not open source... its adobe so i wouldn't always expect it to be either

When I try to download AIR:

Sorry, your platform is not supported.
Whats the matter?

I hope we are talking about the Linux version of AIR.

EDIT:
Now I know why?

Important: This prerelease of Adobe AIR for Linux is alpha-quality and is not feature complete. If you are looking for Adobe AIR for Macintosh or Windows, please go to Adobe.com.

I visited adobe site and that quote I posted which I read made me think that. Am I not right?

Do they have a 64bit version yet?

I have adobe installed so it defenetly works on linux... 64bit not sure...

However, it is a fairly new project and has bugs... not to mention the programs created on it are very bugy too such as readair...

just waiting till read air is better developed since its still in alpha so my feeds reads can be syncronized automatically just like my email...

im sure its just like flash:

"Wow, this interactive flash demonstration is so cool! Oh wait, i dont get sound, let me go close pidgin and restart firefox...."

point is, anything closed source is like an anomaly on a linux machine. Everything open source seems to work in harmony with each other, then you get something closed source like flash or air that just stands out like a sore thumb cause of some random problem

When I try to load Adobe Air onto my XP Pro machine...it gives me the following error:

"An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."

I have administrator rights ?? not sure what is going on....any help would be great !!

Thank you !!

Not nessecarily. Opera works very well in Linux Systems. The Point is the amount of comittment, Closed Source Developers have for *nix. In case of Adobe, it's quite poor.
