The Vista Compatibility Center is part of a broader effort on Microsoft's part to try to create positive attention for the operating system and demonstrate to both consumers and small businesses that it is ready for prime time.

Ubuntu needs one of those (even if just very basic) Probably some manufacturers will also want to get listed later on to promote themselves. A dedicated, easy to use/navigate and good designed website section is also needed.

Yes! We really need this. To stop people asking "what [insert hardware here] will work with Ubuntu" posts. I certainly have posted a few...maybe a little summer project for me? ;)

Cool! Great Anurag_panda!

Lets do it.

I'll nip off and find a free LAMP host.

From that site, I can guess at a schema for the database.
Have a word with http://www.linuxhardware.org, http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting and other places and see if we can get them to provide use with data.

A nice interface & I reckon, if we can get the data together, shoulnd't take more than 3 weeks.

Anyone else?

I'll start a thread new thread. Don't wanna jack this one.!
back soon.

We might even do a better job. We can list each Hardware especially if Significant to a thread in Ubuntu Forums and also put instructions for it if it does not work out of the box.

EDIT: Late Night here(12:53AM where I live), gotta go to sleep. See you tomorrow.

Hm, I think we should create a wiki for that, so we could all pitch in. I'm all for getting a site banged up, but don't have a suitable domain yet.
