Ok right now have xp ubuntu dual boot, and going to ditch xp, if i follow these directions.> If you would like Ubuntu to automatically partition the hard disk for you, select Guided - use entire disk and press Return. This will erase your entire hard disk and install Ubuntu onto it. Will it automatically create a home and swap file.

Yes. It will make a swap file for you.

It would automatically create a swap partition about twice the size of RAM, but not a separate /home. The guided option is quite good, because you don't have to worry about what is going to be created and where.

You will have a /home, it just won't be seperate from root. So it will all be together.

Edit: The only disadvantage is, if you ever re format the drive you will lose home. Unless you back it up to another drive. With a seperate /home, you would be able to not format home and keep it intact.
