Hello all. I am new to Ubuntu. I took my Dell Inspiron 2500 and wiped out XP and loaded the Gutsy Gibbon version of Ubuntu. I even worked through my first problem thanks to these boards (fixing the resolution problem on my monitor - thanks again Boltorg).

Anyway I suspect my Inspiron Bios should probably be updated but I can't even tell what version I currently have. (I am typing this question on a different XP laptop - my Ubuntu laptop still needs to figure out how to connect to my wireless router).

Can someone tell me how I can see my BIOS version in Ubuntu?
Thanks
Peter

Read this it has the key commands for all bios access for any computer. It says for Dell hit F2 at startup. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm
