as i understand things, gdm = graphics display manager

with that said, there are lots of them out there.

its called Gnome Display Manager dude!
you should have a hint with the 'gnome' prefix of the thread title.

You can use XDM or KDM. If you simply want to change the "look", try this: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=37395

Sorry, no offence meant, with all due respect, gnome is a desktop manager not a display manager, so i was trying to hint for you to specify which one you meant.
