Hi, am new to ubuntu. I started with Wubi because i didn't want to get rid of my XP config yet.
I have Ubuntu 8.04 installed onto an external SATA drive, so when i turn on my home desktop i have the option to load either XP or Ubuntu via the Boot loader.

What I'd like to do is use the partition on my external to boot from any PC, i have heard that this is possible, so i can use my own Ubuntu config and progs and such.

Any ideas, please?
Many thanks,

So you want a bootable Ubuntu install on your external HDD, UNetBootin should be able to do that no problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=811397
