Clean install Kubuntu8.04 hangs in step 3

Hi am trying to install fresh copy of kubuntu 8.04 it hangs after step3 after selecting keyboard it scan and hangs.checked a similar issue in 7.04 forum but my case the keyboard caps and scrollock blinks and never proceeds.it hangs at the same step even when done from live boot environment.
Any help appreciated .. Thanks in advance.

I ran into this too, on 8.04 and 8.10. Don't know why it happens, but if you just sit tight for about 15 min (yeah I am serious), it will load the gparted or whatever.

I hope others trying to install ubuntu 8.04 8.10 or kubuntu 8.04 8.10 find this, because it almost made me give up switching from Wimpdows to Ubuntu. Don't give up! You can do it and life is better here.
