Gnome path doesn't seem to match terminal path after upgrade to 8.4

Ever since I upgraded to 8.4 I've been seeing issues where apps can't be found from within Gnome. For example if I run Netbeans from within Gnome it can't find svn, but if I run it from a terminal it can.

How can I check what Gnome's path variable contains and how can I modify it?
