Hello, I have ubuntu installed under wubi, because I wanted to try it out, and I would like to make it more permanent.

Is there any benefit in doing a proper install, and can I go from the wubi install to a fixed partition while keeping my ubuntu setup (ie. without having to install everything again)?

- it took a while to find some programs, and get some drivers working, and I don't want to have to go through all that again!

or is ubuntu going to run just the same - so i shouldn't wory about giving it a proper partition?

HI and welcome, you can look a lvpm and it look as if it has some issues
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LVPM
Also you may use the report button and ask the thread to be moved to here
http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=234
as you may get better support. :)
