I can't get my IBM blade server to install Ubuntu 6.06,7.10, or 8.04. I have two servers and they both wont pass the cd check or install pass the installing additional companents. The CD's I have install perfectly on other machines and the CD check works fine on the other machines. Also with my IBM blade servers there are two errors when running the install or CD check. MP-BIOS error 8254 and _BBN acpi error, but I can get passed those by adding noapic pci=noacpi. I still however can't get the install to go through. Is this a CD Drive problem with IBM or is there another way to install Ubuntu.

Please any help would be appreciated.

You should probably hound IBM support for this question. ;-)

Hi ethanlifka,

I am wondering how come you are having problem install Ubuntu 8.04 on IBM Blade as we have already installed several HS21 XM with Ubuntu 8.04 without any problem. I wonder what was the machine type of the blade originating the problem.
