Upgrading Pidgin

I'm struggling to update to v.2.4.3. I get about as far as downloading the source pkg but that's it. Step by step instructions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you are using Hardy, version 2.4.3 of Pidgin is already in the repos.

Check Synaptic and upgrade.

Open up your Buddy List in Pidgin and hit Help then About and tell us what version it is showing.
