View Full Version : [ubuntu] Install Hardy on encrypted volume

Hello,

on my Laptop I installed some months ago Ubuntu 8.04 in the following configuration:
- unencrypted boot partition
- encrypted volume with LVM-inside (root, home, data, swap)

After some trouble with unsupported applications, I now want to reinstall a fresh 8.04 on this machine, but reuse my home and data volumes.
But the installer on my alternate cd does not recognize the encrypted volume.

Is there any way to make the encrypted volume show up on install? Or do I need to completely rebuild the encrypted volume? (with backup of my data first)

regards, Dascon
