I was watching a trailer for Water Lilies (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0869977/) and came across a song by Vitalic called Trashion (http://youtube.com/watch?v=noJCYVn6Hb4) which is featured in the trailer.

I'm looking for similar type of music, preferably it has to be electronic & atmospheric/moody. I also would like to be depressing or slow in a sense. A song you sort of get lost it in because it has a sort of mystic sense to it, vague female vocals are also great.

Another good example I came across (apparently from hackers soundtrack) Orbital - Halcyon And On And On (http://youtube.com/watch?v=7Rm5wJc68k0)

Other good examples:
Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch (http://youtube.com/watch?v=dtqGoHouoE0)
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (http://youtube.com/watch?v=D8hKfhsSLlI)

Please help me find more similar songs, if possible please link to youtube so I can hear it. Thanks for any help.

I listened to all the songs and while it's pretty good. I find it's a bit too fast, and more drum and base then the atmospheric electronic music that I am looking for. Thanks for your suggests however.

Anymore ideas?

Almost anything by DJ Tiesto. Some of the early works of Moby are very atmospheric. Paul Van Dyke's originals can be spacey at times. Banco De Gaia has some organic atmospheric progressional techno (check out Drippy to see what I mean). Adam White Feat. Martin Grech - Ballerina (Matt Darey Remix) is quite superb. Armin Van Buuren has some good ones. Charlotte Gainsbourg does an amazing downtempo release of AF607105. Dave Ralph has premiered at a Love Parade, some of his concepts are borderline Tiesto. Dumonde's original "I Feel You" is a good one. Some of the mid point Juno Reactor is good, some of it can be a little heavy though. I absolutely love Thievery Corporation for atmospheric. Most remixes done by Gabriel and Dresden. Carl Orff (the one who remade Carmina Burana into techno) has done some great albeit bizaar releases. Mark Snow (famous for the X-Files theme) has some very trance like tracks. Music from Delerium is always good. DJ Keoki has some great mixes that are atmospheric. Ferry Corsten or Freddy Fader are a little heavier than what you may be looking for, but some of their non-released tracks could hit the mark for you. Goldfrapp can be good, but I like the remixes better.

No collection is complete without Giorgio Moroder's "The Chase". One of the techno songs that started the whole atmo themes.

I've got tons more I could list, including the darker or lighter side of techno.

Ack, I forgot to mention Robert Miles, look that one up on youtube... several songs/vids for him.

You could head over to jamendo.org, there is heaps of atmospheric electronica over there.

I heartily recommend Lovage, because Jennifer Charles is a brilliant singer (and very hot to boot), and Mike Patton is a genius... plus it's some of the sexiest, and funniest music around.

Lovage - Book of the Month (http://youtube.com/watch?v=KwBRkN9__uc)

Lovage - Stroker Ace (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKiXYveusc0)

Jennifer Charles' other band, Elysian Fields, is also very sexy, smokey, and subdued (although the music varies a lot... and most of it is not exactly 'electronic') :D

Elysian Fields - Star (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSic9tseaCU)

Elysian Fields - Jack in the Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAWLTxFT_Ss)

Elysian Fields - We're in Love (live) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHRJ3StM7Tc)

If I think of anyone else, I'll post them here.

aphex twin - selected ambient works 85-92 for the beat-driven techno ambient sort of stuff and selected ambient works vol. II for the spacey trippy stuff

xtal (http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=I53MEgCS15c) from 85-92 (with vague female vocals ;))
blue calx (http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=0pAeHEKUdT0) from vol. II

boards of canada are somewhat similar, definitely worth a look

+1 for Aphex Twin
+1 for Moby
+1 for Van Dyke originals, not some of the faster remixes.
+1 for Banco De Gaia

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned 'The Orb' yet:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Orb%27s_Adventures_Beyond_The_Ultraworld

And no mention of 'KLF' either:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chill_Out

Both of those are seminal pieces of ambient music.

Oh, and anything by William Orbit, especially the track 'Water From a Vine Leaf':
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEBLy9OM8_M

You might like to start here with Mr Orbit:

Tripomatic Fairytales (2002) by Jam & Spoon is a must too:

The original Enigma album is a pretty good late night listen:

+1 for Aphex Twin, Banco de Gaia and jamendo

There are of course also the grandads Tangerine Dream and the various members, the likes of Tim Blake and TONTO.

There is also some bloke called Gandalf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandalf_(new_age) who does quite a good atmospheric electronic turn

and

"selected ambient works" album by APHEX TWIN

Highly recommend these albums.

william orbit, as has been mentioned already - listen to 'strange cargo'
deep forest may appeal to you.
also, early jean michel jarre, if electronic instrumentals are appealing.

Order some Ministry of Sound cd's or some from Cafe del Mar.

A song I like from Ministry of Sound cd's is this one:
