woot. I'm hosting a LAN party at my house in a couple weeks and I was wondering how to create the network. All the computers will be running ******* (for the games of course) but I was wondering what would be better, finding a 10 or 8 slot ethernet hub or buying one, or using my wireless network which uses a 54mbit linksys wrt54g router, and all six (including myself) participants have wireless g capable receivers, so everyone should have 54mbit ethernet wirelessly. Would the gaming take a performance hit from this? Should I shell out money to get a gigabit 8 port ethernet hub or use wireless? I also have a 5 port megabit 5 port hub and the router has 4 ports on it so I think hooking all of that together would yield the right number of ports but only 100 megabit ethernet. So how should I go about this?
any suggestions appreciated
