Hello,
I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and GNOME 2.22.2. My wife and I are frequently logged in at the same time, occasionally when switching users it will get stuck on a blank screen (same color as the login screen background). I then have go to the command line and type:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart
to get control of the machine. It does not do it every time, I'd say about every 10th time. Any ideas what could be causing the hang? It's extremely frustrating because it logs us out and causes us to loose anything we had open.
(Note: my wife just told me that it's happened to her when just logging out when it was just her.)
