Right know i am running Ubuntu and have 5 1tb hard drives in a RAID 5 configuration. I have 3 more on order and they should be here by the end of the week. I plan on growing the array to span across all 8 drives but just want to make sure I am doing it right. Can I add all three drives and grow everything at once, or do I have to do it one drive at a time? I plan on following this guide for this "http://scotgate.org/?p=107" Please let me know what will work best. Thanks!

Based on the article you referenced, it looks like you can add all 3 drives at once (Add as spares and then grow the array to the full size).

I have not worked extensively with Linux software RAID since 2001 and back then I don't think this feature existed so I'm finding this ability very cool! :guitar:

Let us know how it goes :)

Cheers!
