im using ubuntu 7.10
i got in my /etc/x11/:
xorg.conf, xorg.conf.1, xorg.conf.2, xorg.conf.3, xorg.conf.4 (...) until xorg.conf.22!!!!!!!

i dunno what that hell happend to that
also, in my /etc/gdm i've got gdm.conf-custom and gdm.conf
and it is the gdm.conf-custom which is actually working

how the hell can i select which godamned xorg i am going to use, which is the well configured, and how the hell cna i stop creating millions of configuration files??!

please, help

also, my ubuntu dont boot
it hangs in the 3rd block of the boot
when i press ctrl+alt+del, it continues, and shows a message that says that xserver could not be started and stuff

7.10 was a bit unstable I found on some hardware. I would install 8.04 as an upgrade.

8.04 is ******* off ATI and GeForce users =P
no way i wud upgrade by that moment

well
my ubuntu, now, is booting in 20minutes, not less
how the hell can I make it faster?!
