I hope one hasn't been done in a while. This one's really complete! I use LXDE and GNOME.

Not when I posted that last message... you hadn't created it yet.

This poll was made for Recurring Discussions. :)

I'll save people the trouble now:

Where's the option for IceWM/awesome/PekWM/wmii/Sawfish/none?!?!11eleven!
There, that's taken care of.

Why the tiling WM hate...?

I use Xmonad.

EDIT: p_quarles beat me to it!

Man, I have to get out more, try something other than gnome.

I blame the 10-option limit more than you :)

Ratpoison isn't what I would call a tiling window manager. It's essentially screen for X, and is different from everything else.

E17 FTW! All the eyecandy and functionality of it's big brothers, but none of the bloat, nor the complete stability! :D

I am as disappointed as well.

ratpoison is good though. Very easy to use.

KDE 3.5.x all the way for me
:)

KDE 3.5.9 here. I'll likely be switching to KDE 4.1.x once I'm on Intrepid Ibex. I'm never going to be truly happy with KDE 4 until Amarok 2 is finally ready though.

LXDE most of the time, with a sprinkling of icewm, and on Puppy, JWM, but more recently, xfce

I voted Gnome, because that's what I use on my main PC. (XFCE on my second PC). But what I really want is LXDE, but with JWM instead of openbox. I know it can be done, but I'm a lazy, lazy man.

I thought the exact oposite. :D

Openbox. After trying out all kinds of WMs, Openbox was the one I liked the most and felt most comfortable with. Plus, it's easy to customize and to make it look nice.

I think it depends on the hardware what I use.

I wouldn't use gnome on a mobile "net-top" type thing, probably use something like fluxbox, but I would use gnome or xfce on a desktop.

Ratpoison is... interesting :)

I appreciate the keyboard control.

I've been using PekWM lately, which is essentially like the "fluxbox/openbox/blackbox" option. But I still picked "Other".

Xmonad, sometimes GNOME, and sometimes openbox.

My absolute favorite is Xmonad, though. :-)

Gnome is pretty ideal for me. Tried lots of others, but I always came back.

correct me if I am wrong. Don't some XFCE users use bits and pieces of Gnome?

Xfce and GNOME are both GTK based, yes.

I'm a hardcore GNOMEr, but I like *box, WindowMaker, E17(though is too buggy for me). I don't like KDE. XCFE either.

i only use something else when i get bored with openbox. once you get your menu set up, there's nothing left to do but use your computer.

I love Gnome. It's sort of funny because a couple of years ago when I started Linux I hated Gnome and I thought KDE was the bomb. Now, I completely opposite.

If only OpenBox had a way to enforce the ordering of dockapps (inserting an 0.75 second delay between starting each one doesn't count) ... *SIGH*

I never used tabbed windows all that much in Fluxbox but for some reason I find them incredibly handy in PekWM.

Why does that not count? ;-) It gets the job done.
