I just got my nice shiny new 8.04 desktop edition cd today and installed from windows (my wife is afraid of change) and when I boot and try to use a normal WM it doesn't boot up. If I use failsafe it boots. I'm downloading the updates as I type this. Could it be a simple fix from the updates or might it be something more serious like hardware compatibility? I've had previous versions installed without a hitch.
