Thanks for the link. I have reviewed that document and posted a question without essential information. Here's (hopefully) a better fully fleshed out post.

I am seeking people who have a setup running to learn their use of the thin clients (e.g. what setting? Lab, classroom, business, etc), are they using Edubuntu, or what tweaks they have found to be helpful.

How old/bad can a computer be and be usable as a thin client? I've been thinking about buying a really cheap laptop (since I have no space for another desktop computer) if I could find one and then buy a wlan card and a wlan adsl hub and use the laptop as a thin client. Is this doable or just stupid or perhaps even imposible? How fast must the network connection be and what's the minimum requirements should I have to set for the laptop?
