had a 90's moment just there with a popup

i was at a dodgy torrent site and got landed with a fullscreen poker ad which i could not get rid of except by killing firefox from the virtual console. this hasn't happened me in absolutely ages - funny in a way.

It isn't hard to do that. Usually, keyboard short cuts can help to close it (Alt+F4, if you are having trouble using the mouse)

Use adblock+ to stop annoyances like this:

thanks for that, i didn't try to use alt-f4 wasn't sure it worked in ubuntu-gnome. i'll try it if it happens again and maybe try that ad blocker thing too.

That has happened to me before... some pop-ups will not let you close the Window.
