View Full Version : [other] xcompmgr with openbox on Old rig

Hey, I'm trying to get xcompmgr working on Openbox on this Old rig:
Celeron 633MHz, 384MB RAM, Intel 82810 mobo with onboard VGA, 80GB IDE

Just brought back this PC to life about a month back and now trying to make it better. I have read that xcompmgr works with i810 and tried some methods, but they didn't work.
I added Modules and Extensions sections.
My xorg.conf: http://paste.ubuntu.com/25402

When I boot in, it works okay. If I execute xcompmgr at the terminal (with or without -cC argument), I get an orange screen which hides my ROX desktop, the backdrop, the fbpanel and everything else. Nothing happens when I click/r-click on this orange part.
I have restarted X and rebooted, but its the same every time.

Any ideas on how to get this working?

PS: Dont ask me to dump this old rig.. LOL.. just brought it back to life :guitar:

Don't dump it! Turn it into a server! Having a personal server is great, and those are good specs for one. no graphics problems (headless), plenty of RAM, decent proc.
