View Full Version : [kubuntu] Standby Problems After installing Kde On Ubuntu

Hello,

This is my first post, so I am unsure whether this is the right place to post my issue. Please forgive me if it is not.

I had Ubuntu installed on an internal hdd, which I converted to an external hdd with an hdd enclosure. It is hooked up to my Toshiba Satellite A135-S4727. After some tweaking, I had gotten everything working: sound, graphics, etc. But then I decided to install the kubuntu kde instead of gnome. I liked it a lot, so I decided to uninstall gnome and related packages.

Now, I am only using Kde, but whenever I try to use hibernate, the system goes to the command line and I get an ext3-fs error or something of the sort. Standby goes into standby, but if left there for a while, it eventually gets the same error.

I would at least like to be able to use standby, I could possibly go without standby. Any help would be greaty appreciated

Thanks in advance.

P.S. although this is an unrelated issue, my speakers no longer shut off when I use headphones ever since I installed KDE.
