I have Ubuntu 8.04 with all the current updates installed.
Some time ago the icon that notifies of updates could not be used to start the update process by clicking on the icon.
I get the Starting Administrator bar and then it goes away.
I have to start the Synaptic Package Manager, the Starting Administrator runs and I enter the password and apply all updates.
Is there any way to fix this?
