I downloaded 8.04.1 iso, and made a cd and started the install. I got zillion error messages. The splash screen appeared without the usual login. The installation continued for two or three hours (I didn't keep time). Now I can't boot Ubuntu and all I get is a blank screen. I'm in a panic. Ubuntu 8.04 worked so perfectly for me. Now what do I do? Please help

Sorry for my panic. . . please disregard my first post. My computer turned off (don't know why). When I rebooted, everything was fine. However, I'm writing a new CD at a slower speed, then I'll try again. If anybody know why I got all the errors, I'd like to know. Has anybody else had this experience?

I don't understand...

If you have a "working perfectly" installation of 8.04. why do you feel the need to reinstall?
If you are current with your updates you are running 8.04.1 NO need to reinstall

But, suit yourself.
