Hi all,

I'm setting up Xubuntu 8.04 on 386 PCs that will be used by children. I'd like to somehow configure it so that they just turn on the computer and wait for Xubuntu to start without needing to log in.

Any help much appreciated.

HI and it has been awhile since I have used XFCE but under applications, system, is there a login window selection? There you can setup auto login.

I'm sure there's a menu item for this, but I don't know where it is in Xubuntu, so press Alt-F2 and type
gksudo gdmsetup enter your password, and then select to enable automatic login. I think it's under security or convenience, or something like that.

Thank you both very much indeed.

I simply cannot get over the huge amount of goodwill and assistance in these forums :=)

Will get onto it when I'm back at the volunteer centre this week.

Best regards,
