hardware install help

I was using a FX 5600xt and it was working fine though I wanted to try this geforce 6600gt that someone gave me it works only it go's blank if I try to use the 3d stuff is there a fix, I have the nvidia driver from nvidia only I'm having trouble getting it to run.:confused:

ok here's how it went the fx 5600xt had to use the analog input to get the 3D to work and the 6600 had dual DVI out and I just used an adapter to use the analog input on my monitor and the system see's the monitor and gave me the 3D and the open GL.

question: why can't it use the DVI output are the drivers not set for it?
