Issue: Unable to reinstall AWN from applications add/remove list

I previously installed the dock from the terminal, I didn't like the way it was acting, then attempted to remove the whole thing by using 'complete removal' in the package manager. I found out later that AWN was part of Ubuntu's open source list under add/remove applications. So thinking it was better to install it from there in the first place I attempted a reinstall. Here's what's happening now...

From the Add/Remove Manager:

Error: 'Cannot install 'avant-window-navigator'
This application conflicts with other installed software. To install 'avant-window-navigator' the conflicting software must be removed first.

Switch to the 'synaptic' package manager to resolve this conflict."

I probably deleted the original files. I would like to give the AWN a second try, if possible. Is there anything I can do to resolve the issue? I'm a new to Linux/Ubuntu. So any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance !
