From Sharman's Blog (Saw in planet)

In all, over 200 updates have been integrated, and updated installation
media has been provided so that fewer updates will need to be downloaded
after installation. These include security updates and corrections for
other high-impact bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and
compatibility with Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. — Release Notes

This one has Firefox 3.0 Final, bunch of intel driver fixes, and sudo will work even if your hostname is messed up.

If you're using Hardy with latest updates you already have 8.04.1.

This build only matters when installing a new system.

...and I must say it's rock solid. I upgraded my RAM to 1G a couple days ago, and all I have to say is WOW!

Screw Ibex, I'm sticking with Hardy :)

I only had a few problems with 8.04 and it has gotten less over the months with updates.

Me also, I'm staying LTS. I have it working just as I like it.

I agree re staying with Hardy.

I'll try Intrepid on a laptop that doesn't matter much.

not too long ago people said: "i'm staying with gutsy". same old story, broken record.

Sure, only companies or people who need there computer for work will stick with the LTS.

The rest will (just like me) get sucked into the hype of Ibex.

I said I'd stay with Gutsy until the point-one version of Hardy was released. Well ... it's released and I'm downloading the alt-install CD from BitTorrent because 8.04.1 isn't showing in Update Manager yet. :| I really would have preferred Update Manager.

You won't have a 8.04.1 update as you probably already have this release.

Go to the Terminal and type:
lsb_release -a

So you can see your current release.

Please reread my statement: "I said I'd stay with Gutsy until the point-one version of Hardy was released." I don't have to type commands in Terminal to figure out that I'm still using Gutsy.

could someone tell me if m-audio delta sound cards are supported in Hardy yet?

it didn't work when i first tried it, hoping the update may solve it. i believe its something to do with pulse audio but as i'm nowhere close to being an expert (not even sure i'm a novice yet!) i can't say for sure.

Just run the Update Manager thing.
If lsb_release -a doesn't show 8.04.1, then just do

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

An aggressive comment like this doesn't even deserve an elaborated answer.

Well, hey ... you're the one who insulted my intelligence. But whatever.
