View Full Version : [SOLVED] How do I cross-reference a post to another thread?

A day or so ago I responded to a thread to hopefully help solve one person's problem. Today I found another thread with practically the same problem.
How do I link to the post I made in the first thread to the second thread?
Or is better to just copy the text from the original post into a new post in the second thread?

Have I made myself clear?

Please advise. Thanks.

The easiest way is to post a link, like in:

See: http://ubuntuforums.org/index.php

Copying text just makes it harder to follow.

Great! I figured it out.
In the original thread, one must right-click on the post number located in the upper right hand corner of the post which will open a dropdown list, then highlight and left-click "Copy link location."
In the second thread, open a Reply, enter your message then right-click the Insert link icon, and paste the copied link location from the first thread. Finish your message, preview and edit your post if necessary, test it to see if it works, and submit it.

Great! Easier than apple pie.
