I have two IBM Thinkpads.

a) Thinkpad 1171 Celeron 700Mhz 192mb RAM
b) Thinkpad 600x Pentium3 500Mhz 192mb RAM

I have tried several distros, ie; Ubuntu(all variants), Xubuntu, Puppy, small, Slax, Dyne-Bolic. Slax and Dyne-Bolic were the only ones that I could get to boot and install from the CD. I am a n00b at Linux, so someone HELP MEE PLZZZZ!!!

Tell me what Linux distros I should use with the easiest install, for Linux-Nubs and these Thinkpad-Monsters!

With your ram, you need distros like Puppy Linux, Damn Small Linux, and Delilinux (http://delilinux.org).

What errors do you get with Puppy or any other install?

Well, most problems I have are the installation(s) freezing. With Puppy, it stops at the, Loading kernal drivers needed to access disk drives...

With Ubuntu, Xubuntu it stops at the load page.
