I am a new convert to Linux so bear with me if I seem to be asking obvious questions! I have bought a Toshiba L40-139 laptop and sucessfully replaced the supplied Windows OS with Kubuntu 8.04. Everything seems to work satisfactorily (although I don't use the integral wireless adaptor . . .). Now I want to make use of the machine's ExpressCard port to provide an IEEE 1394 port for my Nikon scanner, using the Belkin F5U514 card. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the system to recognise it?
