I have an old compaq with a hdd that had XP & Xandros. I would like to swap the HDD to a different PC w/o a HDD and at that point can I put the live disk in and have it do a complete install of Ubuntu?
I'm new to the board and Ubuntu.

Yeah, that should be fine. Is there any reason you think you can't (i.e., what were you worried about)?

Not being a PC pro and being the ultimate newbie to Ubuntu/Linux, I didn't know if I was trying to do the impossible. Thanks for the info.

No problem (I didn't mean to sound condescending, by the way; I was just wondering if there was any reason you thought it wouldn't work in case there was something you'd observed about your computer that wasn't obvious to others necessarily). I knew nothing about computers when I first tried Linux either. Have fun.
