Addiction, no. Enjoyment, yes!

"i could quit tomorrow" rubbish
Why would I want to quit using a secure, friendly, manageable, modern, free to use operating system? nonsensical if you ask me!

No, I use Linux, just like people use any operating system.

Saying we are "addicted" is rather weird. People are more "addicted" to Windows and OS X. Think about it, no one uses Linux because they "have to", but many seem to be using Windows and OS X against their will because they have some specific software program they "need".

No. Addictions have been, for better or worse, classified as a "disease" and I don't want this designation. Just because Linux users aren't using Windows, doesn't make them odd or different and worthy of a different classification.

This is true.

If Microsoft was smart they would make a commercial that is anti Linux that has a Dalek with linux feature prominently on the front say "EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE", Because addicts need to be exterminated.

Agree.
It's against my will to use windows.
But I have to because a specific software program only works in windows. Example are, my favorite online games, IM with Voice and Video Support. Though, theres OpenOffice Calc, i still need MS Excel because up until now, from version to version of OpenOffice, it still don't support the formulas im using. The function() still doesn't exist in OpenOffice.

roundup(), value(), hour(), minute() is my main problem. its actually a timer. so, i still have to use MS excel. :(

I am addicted to Linux because I am forced to learn and grow with Linux. When I said "ACID TEST!" and got myself a Slackware install DVD for a small computer, I had no idea that I would be forced to configure network cards and have the computer figure out I have a scroll wheel.

I have so much fun making small programs and having ownership of my computer. When something goes wrong, I generally only have myself to blame.

Linux is my anti-drug.
